As the Turkish teachers where not able to come to Austria we still wanted to learn about their culture of course. The Turkish teachers sent us their preparations in advance and so we still where able to do the Turkish lessons in our classes without the teachers unfortunately.

So on Tuesday the “Foxes” learned about the “Kids Festival” of Turkey. We even had a Skype meeting with Nida, a Turkish teacher which was very nice. The kids of the fox class loved to talk to him via a Videocall.

We watched the Video of the Kids festival of Turkey together and then Nida answered our questions about Atatürk.

Of course the whole fox class wanted to be part of the next “Kids Festival” in Turkey.

We enjoyed this Turkish topic a lot. THANK YOU TURKEY!

Afterwards the children designed Graffiti.

On Thursday, the kids from our partner school in Trahütten learned many new games from all the countries visiting. First the “Turkish game group” watched the movie about the game of Turkey. Then we talked via Videocall to Nida - the Turkish teacher. Then the group of kids also played the Turkish playground game. You had to catch a flag and run away with it as fast as you could. The kids had been very ambitious about it and one time two boys even crashed into each other a bit because they had been so into it. But don’t worry – nobody got hurt.

It was a lot of fun to play this game together. Thanks for teaching us a new game Turkey!
